There were so many jaw dropping fashion moments at this year’s Academy Awards. I truly gasped out loud when Rosamund Pike stepped out in that sick cherry red Givenchy gown. Chrissy Tiegen in Zuhair Murad? I mean, no words really. Is she for real?!! Emma Stone slayed per usual in Elie Saab.  I was sipping my favorite jalepeno margarita from my hotel room when she landed on the red carpet. The first words out of my mouth were “OMG. I want to drink her! She IS a jalepeno margarita!!”  #Crickets

Anyway, dressing up for me at award shows has always and will always feel like a dream. This year, knowing I was covering three different arenas for E! meant that I could really go wild! My stylist Becca Jefferson introduced me to the amazing team at Charbel Zoe, and that’s when my dream started becoming a reality. A custom made gown just for me for the Oscars. (To read in detail about the evolution of my rose gold creation, go to EOnline.)

You always have to have options, in case of any red carpet emergency, so I was still trying on gowns as I waited for my custom piece to be completed.  I slipped into Charbel’s black gown and immediately fell in love. So elegant! I thought the silhouette really suited my body type and the style was such a contrast to the rose gold beaded gown we were awaiting. The electric blue Victor Harper gown was a last minute find, but again, it was an instant hit. It screamed party to me and the bold color was so fun. We had our three dresses!  I’ve tried on so many gowns over the years and the one thing I’ve learned is that when you know, you KNOW. If you have to convince yourself that it’s pretty, or its “you”, or it’s ‘the one’, then it isn’t. That applies to getting dressed in everyday life too. Go with your gut. Listen to that initial feeling when you look in the mirror. A flutter of excited emotions comes over you when it’s RIGHT.

A huge thank you to my squad who brings it all together. The creative gifts these gals bring to the table are incomparable. So lucky to have their talents and their love on a day like the Oscars. I literally had one of the most enjoyable work days of my career on Sunday. So that’s it. Just giving thanks and credit where it is due. And thank you, my fans, for stopping by and caring enough to bring your eyes to The Cattwalk.

All love.
Big love.
