BOO-TYLICIOUS FITNESS WITH CHASE

It makes zero sense, but although I do a lot of yoga, running and upper body exercises, I always manage to avoid working on my BUTT! I think it’s because for me, those exercises hurt the most. Yes, what a wuss! That is lame and not okay on any level. I kept hearing about Chase Weber - of Chase Fitness here in LA. He is a celeb trainer who has shaped bodies like Naomi Campbell, and even David Beckham has him on his speed dial. He is notorious for transforming bodies into sleek, strong, machines. So - for theCATTWALK audience only, Chase was kind enough to take me step by step through some powerful booty moves to gives us that plump, toned, glorious BEHIND. Exercises anyone can do, from ANYWHERE.

First a warmup to activate the muscles and prevent injury, then three moves to work the glutes.

WARMUP

A glute activation warmup is an essential start to prevent injury, prime the body and activate the glutes for the most effective results in your workout.

Start in a squatting position with a mini band (get yours HERE.) Stretch the band by pulling your left knee out to the side and hold the squat position. Repeat this fifteen times on each side for one set. Do three sets total.

Next, do the Monster Walk. Keeping the band around your thighs for resistance, walk forward fifteen steps, then backward to where you started. Repeat this three times.

BOO-TY EXERCISES

Use these three moves to build and tone your glutes and strengthen your core. Repeat four cycles and try about three times per week for maximum results.

1:

LATERAL SKIS
In this move you’ll be bouncing from left to right, working your glutes, core and balance. Jump as far as you can to each side, getting as much height and distance as possible. Be sure to stick your landing and not wobble. Repeat this 30 times.

2:

BULGARIA DROP
Start standing in front of a chair or surface a couple feet above the floor. Put one back foot onto the chair, keeping that knee at a 90 degree angle. Squat down so your back knee drops down, and your gluts are activated. Repeat 15 times on each side.

3:

BRIDGED FIRE HYDRANT
Start on your hands and knees with your shoulders directly over your wrists and hips above your knees. Lift your knees three inches above the ground to activate your core. From this position, lift your right knee out to the side of your body (think dog on fire hydrant!) Repeat this fifteen times on each side.

RAPIDFIRE QUESTIONS WITH CHASE FITNESS

Catt:
Chase, you’ve grown your business quite a bit! You are blowing up! There are a lot of trainers in Hollywood and a lot of beautiful people who need to stay looking beautiful. What keeps the people coming back to you?

Chase:
Well thank you so much, you’re making me feel all warm and gooey inside right now. I think I’ve found my niche, and I think people respect the craft. I think people want to know that you’re really good at what you do. This is a referral business so once people get results and others can see that, they will ask and that’s how you grow your business. It’s all about word of mouth. Your reputation is everything - guard it with your life. Once it’s tarnished, that’s it and I’ve built up a very good reputation. I’m professional, punctual and great at what I do.

Catt:
How important is the mental part of getting your body at its tip top level?

Chase:
Well if you can’t push the buttons with the mental state of it, that will eventually trickle down because it goes from head to toe. Your body may be going through something but if you’re not mentally strong enough to work through those exercises, then you’re not going to be successful in what you’re doing so at the end of the day, you need to make sure you don’t have a gentle mental and you have a strong one. That’s what we wanna push.

Catt:
Do you have to sign NDA’s for your celebrity clients? Do you guard their secrets with your life?

Chase:
Everybody trusts me, that’s why I was talking about reputation. People trust me and we’ve got those bases covered, we’re all good.

Catt:
Have you ever been intimidated or nervous around a celebrity client?

Chase:
Naomi Campbell shook me a little bit. I was like, how do I talk to her? She’s kinda quiet at first but she’s actually really cool and very sweet!

Catt:
How close to naked have you seen David Beckham? The ladies want to know!

Chase:
He’s peeled off a couple times in the gym, haha!
