My journey to Kenya last month concluded in Amboselli when my mom and I met up with Kirsten Dickerson, the founder of Raven + Lily. The fashion and jewelry company employs women artisans in third world countries and provides them with an income that allows them to feed their families and send their children to school. I was blown away by the women we met - so strong, so vibrant and beautiful. Because of the opportunities Raven + Lily has provided for these women, their communities are truly experiencing progress. Here are some photos of my mom Linda, Kirsten of R + L and I talking with the Maasai artisans, and of course some shots of the gorgeous pieces themselves. All photos taken by Melinda DiMauro. This is a company with a conscience that I fully endorse. By purchasing their designs, you're literally helping make change in the world. Now doesn't that feel good?
